Actor/writer/director Wayne Blair has directed several short films including The Djarns Djarns, winner of the prestigious Crystal Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival, and Black Talk, which won the Sydney Film Festival Dendy Award for Best Short Film.
Wayne directed the stage play The Removalists for the Sydney Theatre Company’s (STC) inaugural season. His other theatre directing credits include STC’s Romeo and Juliet, Ruben Guthrie and Jesus Hopped the A Train for Belvoir St Theatre, and Unspoken, which won Best Independent Production at the Sydney Theatre Awards. As an actor, Wayne’s numerous stage and film roles include his production of Jesus Hopped the A Train, Philip Seymour Hoffman’s STC production of True West and STC’s The Mystery Project directed by Steven Soderbergh.
Wayne has written for the acclaimed BBC/Nine Network series Lockie Leonard and won an Australian Writers’ Guild Award for his work on SBS series The Circuit.
